The keeping of time records is mandatory in order to correctly determine the employee’s salary and other work-related benefits. The employer shall incur a penalty for irregularities in the employee’s time records. Its amount is decided by the PIP inspector, depending on the degree of violation of the law.
PIP inspectors are tasked with monitoring whether employers are complying with applicable laws, including regulations on: employment conditions, wages, working hours and contracts.
Recording working time is an obligation of every employer, even those who employ only one employee. Pursuant to Article 149 §1 of the Labour Code (CCP), time records serve the purpose of correctly determining remuneration and other work-related benefits.
There is no such requirement.
An attendance list can be a supplement to time records. However, no regulations indicate that it must be kept in the company.
